We here at NightOwls Media wanted to send a personal note to let you know how we are strategizing for a healthy recovery and constant movement forward.

  1. In time of crisis, think of the great author Douglas Adams and “don’t panic.” We should be thinking long term as a community.
  2. Everyone who weathers this storm will not only come out stronger, but wiser moving forward.
  3. Events can be postponed and rescheduled. Your health and happiness is of the utmost concern.

But over all, we want you to be safe. Safe and healthy. The Corona Virus / Covid-19 is something that is serious and we as a country are starting to take it more seriously. It’s far better to be able to get to laugh about how silly we were as we find ourselves down the line from this, than to look back and regret not doing more to prevent it. So please, take the precautions necessary to keep yourself healthy and safe as well as your loved ones. Here are some helpful tips, that we are well aware you have probably already learned elsewhere, but if you know us, we are all about educating and helping.

Like others, we are closely following the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and other local and national health organizations.

Health and safety are all of our responsibilities. We encourage you to practice safety measures at home and when you’re out.  The CDC

  1. Stay Home. Stay home when you can. If you don’t have to leave, chill out with a great book, have a little extra play time with your cat or dog, spend some good family time together. We personally love board games! Maybe watch your wedding film again? Sorry for the plug there.
  2. Monitor Symptoms. Not just when you’re feeling sick, but all the time so that you have a good gauge on your numbers and feelings. If you start to worsen, call your health care provider.
  3. Rest and Stay Hydrated! This one seems like it’s old advice, but it’s true. Relax and rest, your body is an amazing tool that can do wondrous things when you aren’t over working yourself. And get your body water. If you have had us at your wedding, you already I’m a big proponent of this 🙂
  4. Call ahead. If you have medical issues or an appointment, be sure to call ahead. This advice was given to me by my friends in the medical field. They are swamped right now, so be sure to communicate all you can ahead of time to help everyone out and make it a smooth situation.
  5. 911. We are all taught that we only should do this in dire situations. But if your symptoms are severe, call 911. Your health is paramount.
  6. Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  7. Wash your hands. The given advice is for 20 seconds each time. I like to sing “never gonna give you up” by Rick Astley and my wife is starting to get sick of it, but by singing the chorus of the song it makes that time feel far less over-looming and almost like a fun ritual.
  8. If you are feeling sick, use a different bathroom at home, if you can, than others.
  9. Avoid sharing personal items. This is the best time to kick back with that book or catch up on some shows on Netflix or Prime – if you ever want recommendations, I tend to watch a lot of stuff 🙂
  10. Clean surfaces that are touched often. Never a bad habit to get in to in order to keep clean.
