Winter Wedding Tips

Well it’s officially winter time and if you are one of those awesome brides who chose a winter wedding, you are in for a treat because the snow looks amazing, the frost in the air is so cinematic that pops right out of your TV, and no one is sweating in their film or photos!

Now! Let’s deal with the elephant in the room. It’s cold outside. How can you and your bridal party be more comfortable in those cold moments?

  1. Sweat pants / Leggings – Dresses are pretty amazing in the summer time, breezy and cool. In the winter, this can be chilly!! If your dresses are long enough, wear some sweat pants or leggings underneath! Are your dresses showing ankles and shins? No worries, just roll them up a little bit and keep warm outside for those beautiful creative sessions!
  2. Hand Warmers – can be a life saver and come in pretty “handy” – I’m sorry for the pun, I couldn’t help it. Keeping these in pockets, or just near by, can keep your whole body warm. These are the ones we use and often recommend – Hot Hands – not only do they work well, they are super affordable.
  3. Party Buses – If you’ve ever been on one, you know these are awesome on their own, but in the colder months it’s even better. Not only do they seat more of your bridal party than limos, but getting on and off in that quick, cold panic to get back to the warm seats and the cool drinks, it makes it SO MUCH EASIER!
  4. Bundle Up Between Shots – Blankets, big jackets, cloaks can all be amazing for your warmth between the shots. While we are walking from one location to another, changing a lens quickly, you can warm up quickly – not to mention, having this on hand will allow you to take more shots and make your film that much better!
  5. Time – Something we talk to with all out couples is that it’s better to be running ahead of time than behind. If you are running ahead of your timeline, that just means we can do more cool things. If we are running behind, that means we have to cut something out that we wanted to do. Allow for extra time in travel, specially in any city and winter times. Traffic gets not so fun in the winter time, especially in the cities.
